xx Obscure bug in BB4W
« Thread started on: Dec 23rd, 2016, 8:46pm »

Richard has posted an alert of an obscure bug in BB4W on the groups.io site:

https://groups.io/g/bb4w/topic/3837863?p=,,,20,0,0,0::recentpostdate%2Fsticky,,,20,2,0,3837863

You have to try pretty hard to trigger the bug:

"The circumstances in which the bug can show itself are as follows:

A procedure (or function) takes a string parameter.

The 'actual' parameter is a user-defined function (FN) which returns a string value.

The 'formal' parameter is a string variable that is modified by the user-defined function."

There's a discussion of the bug on the groups.io site about the implications, though the main take-home message seems to be not to worry too much.
